A real family diner open since 1933! Love it! Great old school music that transports you back in time. Great prices, service, food and ambiance. They also own the Keno's off La Palma! Another great diner we like to go to!

I have driven by Jack's for years and finally today I went in to have lunch. The menu is great, many options to chose from. They serve breakfast all day. I had the French dip and it was delicious. The roast beef so tasty and tender and the roll was so soft. Then dip it in the au jus sauce. Mmmmm what a delight!! Im coming back every chance I get to try everything else on the menu. Prices were so reasonable. Stop by u wont regret it. Im just mad cuz I should have stopped by a long time ago.

I swung by Jack's Whittier Restaurant on Whittier Blvd for a quick breakfast fix, and wow—this spot lives up to its 90+ year legacy as a local landmark. Established back in 1933, it's got that perfect retro diner vibe with the spinning pie case, friendly cooks in tall hats, and a buzzing atmosphere that's casual yet welcoming. Outdoor seating if you're feeling the SoCal sun, and it's open super early (6am) till midnight, which is clutch for us night owls or early birds. I went with their steak and eggs combo, and it was spot-on comfort food. The grilled steak was juicy and flavorful with a nice char, not overcooked at all—paired perfectly with the sunny-side-up eggs where the yolks were still runny and golden (love those four little yolks staring back at me!). The hash browns were crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and had just the right sprinkle of seasoning without being greasy. Everything arrived hot and fresh, portioned generously on a simple white square plate that kept the focus on the food. But what really sealed the deal was the service—top-notch from start to finish. My server was attentive, checked in without hovering, and had that genuine smile that makes you feel like a regular. In a world of rushed eats, it's refreshing to hit a place where the staff actually cares. If you're in Whittier craving reliable diner classics (pancakes, fried chicken, or their famous homemade tapioca pudding for dessert), Jack's is a must. Affordable, nostalgic, and delicious—I'll be back soon to try the Liver with onions. Highly recommend!

My Favorite breakfast spot in Whittier. There lunch & dinner is good too, but I love the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs or the California Omelet. With their house salsa!!

This restaurant has a cool retro vibe, with good filling classic diner food! I enjoyed the Greg’s Greek Skillet which I added chick for only $4 for extra protein. This dish was very filling and could be enjoyed by two! Make sure to ask for the house made salsa… it leveled up my dish and the Veggie Omelette that my partner ordered! If you are choosing toast make sure to ask for the Sourdough toast… really good flavor and amazing crunch! We ordered a side pancake and the batter was really yummy, highly recommend! Come hungry because you’ll leave full or make sure to split a dish!

Jack's is never a disappointment ! They greet you with a smile as you walk in ! It was packed this night because it's Fried Chicken dinner night ! A full meal with dessert ! We got seated fast ! They got our drinks ! Big plus ! Marissa was beyond fabulous, she's super nice & she knows the menu ! Her fast service made our dining very enjoyable ! We ordered the Wednesday special, the Fried Chicken dinner ! Our meal was huge ! More delicious ! We had our dessert of Ice cream and took home our remaining Chicken & baked potato ! This is amazing diner in the heart of Whittier !

This was a really cute diner, takes you back in time. The food was really good and the staff were friendly. I had the chicken fried steak, which was smothered in gravy and delicious. The chicken soup was sooo good, had to order more to take home! Overall, everything tasted great, like homemade. Will definitely be coming back to try more dishes.

Originally opened in 1933 I drove from West LA specifically for this diner and I’m very happy that I did so. I am working through a list of all diners in LA County and next on the list was Jack’s. I was excited to try it based on how many decades it’s been open and also just from the pictures I could tell this sort of architecture and vibe that I want to see for a diner breakfast. They have a parking lot attached with free parking and even though it was crowded we were able to be seated after about a 5 min wait. Our server was extremely polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. The interior looks like a true LA retro diner with the Googie architecture and plenty of booth and counter seating. Since it was opened prior to the 1950s, it doesn’t have the rock ‘n’ roll theme which I was glad to see since a lot of the newer diners copy that 1950s aesthetic. They have a very large menu so it was hard to choose what I wanted to order but I settled on the Steak Skillet because I’d read a lot of great reviews about it. I will say that it is very good and the steak is very tender and flavorful. They don’t skimp on the portion sizes and overall I was very happy with the dish. We also ordered some bakery items and everything was very tasty and made us want to visit again soon. I would definitely recommend to any fan of diners or to anyone in the area searching for a great breakfast or lunch option.

Absolutely amazing restaurant! They’ve been around since the 30’s and they are the best breakfast spot in all of LA. Absolutely amazing food. They were crazy busy in the morning but they still manage to serve people fairly quickly.

Jack's is an incredible diner. My husband and I went often during my pregnancy this year as I was craving hamburgers and belgian waffles. Their vegetable and minestrone soup is delicious. The baked potato is a popular item to order. For drinks: they have various iced teas, coke products and hot coffee! Lastly, they have pies and cakes by the slice. Their lemon cake is scrumptious, pecan pie too!
